Some of our initiatives supporting our mission and giving back to the community
In the summer of 2021, Apress (part of Springer Nature) published Adopting Agile Across Borders, a book co-authored by Glaudia and David. It could never have done without the help from Agile Practitioners around the world who contributed to the book with their own personal stories. As a community, a commitment was made that all royalties would be donated to good causes.
Girls Who Code, whose mission is ‘to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does’, and The Nature Conservancy, who aim to ‘find paths to solve climate change and biodiversity loss’ are the two organisations that donations have been made to.
We are proud to be supporting Learntor, a digital consultancy firm focused on Agile Scrum Transformation, Digital Marketing, and training, mentoring and coaching based in Nigeria.
Learntor’s vision is to create a world-class lifelong learning platform that equips Africans for a global competitive edge, leveraging digital skills and technology.
Their mission is to bridge the skill gap in Africa by providing valuable access and opportunities to women and youths, using cutting edge and scalable digital products.
We are working with Learntor to deliver accredited Scrum.org Professional Scrum training, accredited Kanban University Kanban Method training, and Design Thinking workshops for people in Africa.
We are proud to be supporting the partnership of Scrum.org and Year Up. Year Up is a non-profit organisation dedicated to closing the skills gap for thousands of young adults across the US.
Year Up is empowering people to move from minimum wage jobs to meaningful carreers by providing intensive training programs featuring six months of skills training and a six month internship.
Scrum.org is working with Year Up to deliver Professional Scrum training to Year Up students, and Professional Scrum Trainers from Red Tangerine are helping to provide some of this training.
Women in Agile and Tech is a collective effort to bridge the gap for women and non-binary voices, providing a path to support and amplify a diverse and empowered community. Women in Agile and Tech runs FREE online mentorship programs under the AgilityToday umbrella, to help fellow women and men from all around the world. 153 mentors from 36 different countries are signed up, offering 82 mentorship topics.
We are proud to work with Women in Agile and Tech and offer our support as mentors for this initiative.
